flip*flop is part of the family-run BERND HUMMEL HOLDING based in Pirmasens, known as the "shoe city," in the southwestern Palatinate region.
In addition to Bernd Hummel, his two daughters Anne-Katrin and Julia are managing partners in the family business. Bernd Hummel's wife, Gabriele Hummel, is responsible for the real estate division and human resources management.
For us as an owner-managed family business, respect for family values, entrepreneurial spirit and the assumption of social responsibility come first. We combine our tradition and entrepreneurial experience with a sense for trends and a readiness for the future.
In addition to flip*flop, the holding also includes the sneaker & lifestyle brand KANGAROOS and the HUMMEL&HUMMEL SCHUHMANUFAKTUR (shoe manufactory) in Münchweiler near Pirmasens. Here, especially high-quality sneakers are handcrafted - Made in Germany - a sustainable statement in the shoe industry and a tribute to the shoemaking tradition of our region. With the historic company headquarters NEUFFER AM PARK,
a former shoe factory dating back from the Gründerzeit, we have a unique office. In 1894, the Neuffer am Park is built in Pirmasens,
the German shoe city. In 1990 our CEO and owner Bernd Hummel buys the run-down building, applies for monument conservation and starts the renovation work step by step.
Tradition meets trend: listed facades from the 19th century and a light-flooded, modern office design inside. The ideal creative location for us, with an environment that offers the highest level of craftsmanship and entrepreneurial expertise in the shoe business.
